David Marshall to Lead Growing Portfolio of Strategic Partnerships and Executive Education Initiatives for the GW College of Professional Studies

WASHINGTON (Nov. 14, 2022) – The George Washington University College of Professional Studies at (CPS) announces the appointment of David Marshall to the new position of associate dean for strategic partnerships & executive education.

Marshall, who joins the College’s leadership team November 14, 2022, will lead the design and expansion of strategic partnerships and executive education initiatives. He will spearhead a comprehensive engagement strategy to create valuable long-term learning and development programs for our partners, foster the career advancement of the student and alumni community, and forge philanthropic relationships to support the mission of the college.

“I’m excited to welcome David Marshall to our leadership team to build a diverse array of agile, innovative, and market-responsive educational options for a diverse community of learners, empowering their professional progression, engendering lifelong learning, and contributing to social and economic impact,” CPS dean Liesl Riddle said.

Marshall, a public affairs and communications specialist, most recently served as the Chief Membership Engagement, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer at the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration. He brings a unique blend of experience to CPS, with more than 15 years of multi-sector professional experience in higher education administration, government relations and management consulting. Marshall holds a B.A. from Princeton University and two master’s degrees – an M.P.A. from the Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs and an M.A. in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from the Texas Moody College of Communication.

In his new position, Marshall will build upon strong relationships with existing CPS partners, while developing unique opportunities in response to economic, industry, technology and workforce trends. The new organizational vertical he leads will leverage robust existing Graduate School of Political Management partnerships, add to CPS’s executive education program portfolio, and benefit from the College’s strong executive education reputation already carved out in the market by the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (CEPL).
