Iran/Hezbollah in Latin America: Threats to U.S. National Security

The presence of Iran/Hezbollah and their use of Latin America’s open borders presents a clear and present danger to the intelligence and security interest of the United States in the Region, particularly in two Tri-Border Areas and in the Andean Region due to the migration from and through Venezuela where Iran/Hezbollah have a long-established presence.
Dr. Maria Velez de Berliner is Managing Director of RTG-Red Team Group, Inc. Since 2012 she has been a professor at The George Washington University, College of Professional Studies, Homeland Security master’s program where she teaches Intelligence and Strategic Analysis, having taught Political Violence and Terrorism and Inter-Agency Cooperation in the same program.
