The Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) proudly sponsored the 2025 Pi Sigma Alpha National Research Conference, held in Washington, D.C., from February 14-16. This premier gathering brought together top political science students from across the country to present their research and explore career opportunities in the field.

Angela McMillen Ayres, GSPM’s Interim Executive Director, kicked off the conference’s career reception on Friday evening with opening remarks, emphasizing the school's commitment to shaping the next generation of leaders. On Saturday morning, she moderated a dynamic panel discussion, "Exciting Political Careers Outside Academia," featuring distinguished GSPM alumni Joe Franco, Tremayne Smith, and Alpha Woolen, who shared their career experiences and insights.

Later that afternoon, Lesley Lopez, Director of the Public Relations & Communications program, introduced the keynote speaker after highlighting GSPM’s diverse programs and its mission to equip students with the skills needed for meaningful political, advocacy, and communications careers.

Throughout the weekend, GSPM recruiters Ben Evans and Shakiba Shaheer connected with prospective students, offering insights into the school's academic programs and career pathways. The event was an excellent opportunity to engage with aspiring political professionals and reinforce GSPM as the premier school of applied politics in the U.S.
