GSPM Tour

Hon. Mark Kennedy Leading a Tour of His Old Haunts

The Graduate School of Political Management held its Spring 2015 admitted students reception at the United States Capitol, giving its newest students a backstage pass to the biggest stage in American politics.

The extensive tour led by GSPM Director and former U.S. Rep. Mark Kennedy took the group to the House Chamber to see the close of the day's session and hear an explanation of the Congressional voting process and the politics that occurs before any bill makes it to the floor.

Following the tour, the school held a networking event at the Rayburn House Office Building, courtesy of an invitation from Rep. John Kline, R-Minn. Several alumni joined the event to share their experiences. The school's alumni network is especially deep on the Hill, where alums are working as Chiefs of Staff, Legislative Directors, and Communications Directors to offices in the House and Senate.

Current GSPM Student Association head Brittany Martinez welcomed the school's newest students and encouraged them to get active in the school's leadership organization.

All those in attendance were also encouraged to follow the school's Facebook and Twitter accounts, which provide the GSPM community with the university's latest media coverage, as well as information on career and networking events.
