Attention Students: Get Paid for Unpaid Internships!

February 7, 2017

KACIF

Students who will be interning in unpaid internships this summer are encouraged to apply for the Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF). All GW undergraduate and graduate students who are currently enrolled full-time or part-time in any degree program during the application and internship period are eligible.

KACIF supports GW students in pursuing high quality, necessarily unpaid internships that foster their career exploration and enhance their academic program by providing grants ranging up to $3,000. However, the usual ceiling is $1,500.

Necessarily unpaid internships are typically those with non-profit, governmental, educational and non-governmental organizations that genuinely lack the financial resources to pay salaries or wages to their interns.

KACIF also offers travel grants to students who are participating in unpaid internships that will advance their career development and who need assistance in paying for their public transportation to and from the internship location. The limit is $300.

Early Decision Applications accepted February 15—March 1, 2017

General Decision Applications accepted April 1—April 15, 2017
