The George Washington University Integrated, Information Science and Technology program would like to congratulate IIST’s class of 2017 for successfully completing their undergraduate degrees. We are pleased to celebrate the achievement of our 34 seniors, who in 2015 made the decision to transfer from a local community college to GW to complete their bachelor’s degrees. With the support of our faculty, mentors, and industry partners, each student worked diligently over the last two years to complete their required courses and along the way they achieved more than just receiving a degree. They made meaningful connections and life long friendships with their cohort, started graduate programs, found internships and full time positions, volunteered their time in local and international communities and overall accomplished more than what was expected of them.
Here are some of the achievements by the class of 2017:
Several of our students participated in service-learning projects that impacted communities both locally and globally. Students received recognition for their work through George Washington Alumni Association (GWAA) award, the Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF), Sigelman Undergraduate Research Enhancement (SURE) awards, and the GW Research Day awards.
Four of our graduating seniors are completing their accelerated master’s degree in the Information Systems and Technology Management (ISTM) program at GW’s School of Business and one of our students was accepted to the top graduate program in Advanced Analytics at North Carolina State University. Several of our students secured technology internships at federal agencies during the 2016-2017 school year and received full-time positions post-graduation. Other graduates found new employment in the IT fields before or right after graduation.
Congratulation again to the Class of 2017
You make us all proud.
Raise high and continue to aim high!
