Jane Thorpe Appointed Interim Department Chair at Milken

Congratulations to Jane Hyatt Thorpe, J.D. who has been appointed interim department chair in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Milken Institute School of Public Health, effective July 1.

Thorpe, the program director for the Healthcare Corporate Compliance Graduate Certificate program in the College of Professional Studies, also currently serves as an associate professor and vice chair of academic affairs in the department of health policy and management.

Thorpe will assume the new leadership position following the departure of Prof. Thomas LaVeist, who has been named the dean of Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

Thorpe specializes in healthcare law and policy in the areas of Medicare, Medicaid, health care delivery systems and financing, health information exchange and technology, and corporate compliance.
