Professor Rob Engel Appointed Director of Semester in Washington Program

Professor Rob Engel, new director, Semester in Washington program (Cody House).

Congratulations to Professor Rob Engel as the new Director of Semester in Washington and the associated programs.

While Engel is new to this role, he has been active in the Semester in Washington Politics Program since 1995, teaching practicum courses on presidential, senatorial, gubernatorial primary and general elections, as well as classes focusing on the Republican and Democratic Presidential Conventions.  He has also taught at the Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) and the Center for Congress and Presidential Studies at American University's School of Public Affairs.

After working in Democratic politics for over 30 years serving in senior positions at the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and the National Democratic Redistricting Project, Rob has spent the last six years working in corporate manufacturing as the Vice President for Domestic Policy at the American Automotive Policy Council (AAPC).  AAPC is the Washington industry group representing the common public policy interests of Fiat / Chrysler Automobiles, the Ford Motor Company and the General Motors Company.

Rob resides in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife and son.
