Hello CPS community, and welcome to our new academic year!
I’m Liesl Riddle, Dean of the College of Professional Studies (CPS). To our new students, welcome to CPS. And to our returning students, it's so great to have you back here.
We’re celebrating a lot of birthdays at CPS this year! As you can tell we are in the birthday spirit. The College of Professional Studies (CPS) this year is turning 25 years old. Our Center for Excellence in Public Leadership is turning 30. The Graduate School of Political Management is turning 40. And there’s even more to celebrate. Our Paralegal Studies program is turning 20 years old this year, and our Sustainable Urban Planning program is turning 15.
These birthdays give us a chance to celebrate where we’ve been, but they also remind us of what has always made CPS so special. We’re a community that is constantly evolving, innovating and finding new ways to connect education with the professions and the communities we serve.
So as you begin the year, I really encourage you to make the most of being part of this very special community. Come to our events, really spend the time and get to know your faculty and fellow students, and look for those opportunities to connect beyond the classroom. And keep an eye out for our biweekly CPS and GSPM student emails so you don’t miss what’s happening.
We're excited to celebrate with you—and even more excited about what we’ll accomplish together in the year ahead.
